EA announced today the shipping of its groundbreaking boxing title, Fight Night 2004. Featuring Light Heavyweight Champion of the World Roy Jones Jr. as the cover star of the game, and several innovative features, the promise to breath life into a stagnant genre is all but assured, courtesy of EA. Sporting the new “Total Punch Control” system, both analog sticks are used to allow the player complete control over his pugilist persona, including; blocking, weaving, dodging and, of course, punching. Asserting this feature as their new game’s claim to fame, the “Total Punch Control” system allows for the most accessible control found in a boxing game paired with the most fluid movement seen in most any fighter.
These exciting features still do little to overshadow the promise of online play, another first for a boxing game, brought forward from Fight Night 2004. Featuring 32 of the world’s best known boxers including classics like Sugar Ray Leonard and Muhammad Ali to current greats like Roy Jones Jr. and Lennox Lewis.
Fight Night 2004 arrives on store shelves tomorrow and carries the suggested retail price of $49.99. If you’re sick of boxing games that are lacking (and yes, you are,) pick up a copy of Fight Night 2004, and let’s keep the ear biting to a minimum.

I played the demo of this game at Gamestop, and it was a really cool game.. The graphics where almost photo realistic. In a genre of games where there are not too many in number, this is probably the best one yet..
