The only problem I have is the battery life... it can be as low as 2 hours, depending on what you're using it for. If they can correct it, then I retract my vote.

Well on average it's gonna last you for about 4 hous playing games and more nearly double if your litsening to music. High quality video expect about 2 hours.. and it's not like your gonna' play a handheld for 4 hours every day so just charge every night or when the battery gets low and ur done playin charge it then. And you always got your AC adapter plus you can buy an extra battery. It really isn't bad.

I will copy and paste my opinion from Sega to here:
If you mean what's best in graphics-terms, then PSP gets the prize, hands down. I also see a promising online-feature that will be with the PSP. Damn, what can I say about DS...it has two screens, one being that it can be touched, which frankly, I don't see anything good out of that, other than it can have more buttons than what's on your standard DS setup. It can also act somewhat as a PDA, the screen, and an "Analog Stick", so to speak.
It has...Ninty's good developing staff, and is, supposedly, going to get some above-average third-party support (Better than the GCN's getting, thus far). It has a picto-chat which is absent on the PSP, but we have yet to see an online-service (Official) to be established for the DS, whereas the PSP has one in the works, and perhaps it will even have online-play at launch.
Therefore, I think the PSP can be a good system if it starts getting more original games and not just lame games that everyone's played over-and-over again on the PS2. I've heard that 2 new games that have online features are coming to the PSP, which is a good start. But not good enough if they're going to try to persuade the market to pay a pretty price for the gem with good graphics and versatility, of those being an MP3 player, UMD capabilities, etc. It is a landmark in handhelds to use a medium drive, if I recolect.
So I will have to go with PSP, because it looks more promising. Bigger screen, better graphics, and overall, it will probably get good support, seeing as it be that both Sony consoles have gotten their fare-share of third-party games to be exclusive on a PS1/PS2. However, do I think that it will creamate the DS? Nah, the DS will still succeed, and I will still be a supporter of the system, needless to say. The PSP will be a hindrence, if Sony plays their cards right, but the DS won't be a failure, either.
Thus, I think that both are great handhelds of this gen, but I will have to go with the PSP for now, due to all of it's promising features. However, the DS does have it's share of innovative features, like a built-in microphone, not to mention that it, too, will be able to go online, eventually. But with better graphics, an analog stick (Which is NEEDED for 3D games, IMO), bigger screen (2 screens don't mean anything if only 1s going to be used for the main game and the other is being used for a map), and online-service right out of the box, that is why I, now, choose the PSP over the DS.
But I don't feel that it's worth the $250. I will, however, probably buy one when the price is right for me. $150 was fine, and I was, somewhat, surprised when I first heard the price. But when I first heard that the PSP is going to be $200, I thought that was still alright, but not real sure it was a done-deal. But then when Sony hit me with the uped price of $250, I was appauled, and saddened. I had my sights set hight, and then when I heard the news, I was, suddenly, hit with a bolt of emotions that cannot be described here. So I will hold out and wait patiently for the cometh of the time that the price-drop will, truly, happen.
