Nintendo plans to "acquire" new technology ahead of their competitors.
According to reports in the Japanese "Toyo Keizei" newspaper, senior executives have revealed their desire to get hold of important and key technologies in advance of their rivals in the business.
Just exactly what key technology they wish to get their grubby mitts on was made unclear (perhaps a time machine to calter history and give synchronus worldwide releases would be nice?) However, it was suggested that Nintendo might use their corporate investment capital to buy-out existing companies.
Is this a sign of more aggressive business practices on the part of Nintendo? It's difficult to say at the moment without knowing more specific details on the acquisitions they are really seeking. Perhaps they're trying to prevent Sony and Microsoft from owning hardware patents and copyrights? Only time will tell.

well its about time. With nintendo taking a "NON gaming only" approach to the nintendo DS, it appears Nintendo is going about things alot differently than they have in the past. Is this the dawn of a new more agressive and mature Nintendo??
