i know that to make a game there are a lot of phases that have to be completed, programming and such. However i am not interested in those steps of game developement. i am not completely farmilier with the whole process but it makes sence that before programming and the rest can start an idea for a game, the levels, characters, weapons, map and more need to be invented. i'm not sure who does this. But if i were to have an idea for a game woth: a detailed map, character portraits, weapon designes and everything about the game that can be written on paper, would a company that makes games buy it. provided it was good enough for them to think it will sell.
i am interested in designimg a rpg since i feel this genre has gone downhill in the last years. excluding mmorpg game but some people like me dont want to spent $20-30 a month to play a game i already paid for. please give me feed back. by the way my game will rock like no other game yet.
thanks

Here is what your going to have to do.. You'll need to find someone who knows how to code in a simple language and the both of you will have to actually create the game in a watered down form.. IE, sprites and simplified graphics. Implement your story line and characters and what not and actually create your game... Then you can begin shoping the game with larger game companies.. But the bottom line is, you have to show them something... They arent going to be interested in buying your "concept"... If the game company likes your game, they may opt to buy it and create a whole 3d production version of it..
